Dr. Binta Alleyne-Green specializes in helping individuals (ages 12-65) cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and loss, as well as supporting couples facing relationship challenges. Clients are welcomed into a compassionate, nonjudgmental space that encourages openness and action, utilizing a blend of traditional and non-traditional therapeutic approaches.
1.
Couples
Therapy
When the demands of life cause you to lose sight of what first brought you together, couples therapy can help you reconnect and rediscover your why. Using the Gottman Method, I help couples navigate conflict, life transitions, betrayals, trust issues, lack of emotional safety, and other stressors—empowering you to strengthen your bond, improve communication, and create lasting, positive change in your relationship.
2.
Fertility/
Reproductive Health
For BIPOC individuals and couples, the road to parenthood may be bumpy and uncertain. Infertility can be an emotional journey filled with uncertainty, stress, and grief, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I provide a safe space for BIPOC individuals to process feelings, navigate challenges, and develop coping strategies to support your emotional well-being during this difficult time.
3.
Parenting Stress
The U.S. Surgeon General recently declared parenting stress a public health crisis. For parents, therapy is not indulgent, it's a necessity. As a parent myself, I understand first hand the constant stressors of parenting, and endeavor to help clients develop successful coping strategies.
4.
Adolescent/
Youth
Therapy
Adolescence is a period of transitions that's often associated with uncertainty and strife. I've been there...and I work to empower young clients with needed skills to successfully navigate this developmental stage.
My Approach
I take a client-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, always coming from the perspective that you're stronger than you know.
The fact that you're here says you're already on your journey to healing. Helping you continue on this path is my passion. As someone who has done a lot of my own work in therapy and continue to do this work, I know first hand the transformative power of therapy. Helping people like you get to a place where they are witnessing their own strength, many for the first time in their lives, and discovering a sense of inner peace can be profound, both for my clients and me.
I bring a practical and straightforward approach to counseling. I’m comfortable with the uncomfortable and stand right there in that discomfort with my clients. But I believe in more than talking, I am solution-focused. Where are you trying to go, and what do we need to do to get there? I really enjoy working with people who are motivated to do the work, to develop the skills they need to reach the outcomes they desire to achieve. Those are the folks who often see the most progress from our work together.
